Student Responsibilities


  • Complete 450 hours of work-based learning MINIMUM for a one-year program (this includes summer hours).
  • Complete 900 hours of work-based learning MINIMUM for a two-year program (this includes summer hours).
  • Successfully complete two semesters of related classroom instruction (CTE or technical college courses) per year.

Parent Responsibilities


  • Support student in their schooling and employment skill development.
  • Ensure transportation to and from work site is provided.
  • Understand that the student must still complete classroom assignments and work toward fulfilling graduation requirements.
  • Be aware that satisfactory performance on the job and at school by the student determines the awarding of credit and YA certificate.
  • Encourage student to talk over program-related issues with the regional YA coordinator and school-based YA coordinator.​​
